Coupons and deals today!

Go here for Hormel coupons. Every once in a while, you'll see a really great sale price on the fully cooked meals.

TOMORROW the coupons on Smartsource and coupons.com will reset. Some have been unlocked for the final day. In other words, go get what you want now before they may disappear over night! Then check back in the morning to see what's new! Make sure you have plenty of ink and paper!

Go over to Swaggrabber to download and print a coupon for 2 free pair of panties to take to Victoria's Secret (in store) tomorrow. They're free with ANY purchase...can you find the cheapest thing in the store? There are other coupons on the VS site which you can access through SwagGrabber as well.

Right above the VS coupons on SwagGrabber is a link for Star Olive Oil. The survey takes about 3 minutes and they'll mail you coupons.

Use zip code 77578 on Redplum and you'll see a coupon for $3/1 Glade candles. These are $2 to $2.50 at Walgreens and you get $1RR when you buy two! You can print the coupon twice...

Go HERE for a BOGO coupon for entrees at TGI Fridays. Sorry, if you live in Denver, Detroit, Houston, or Minneapolis, the coupon is invalid for you.

Go to Kashi for a FREE sample! The Honey Sunshine looks so good!

Keep you eyes open for a new coupon booklet in Walgreens. Most of the coupons are cold and flu related, so I'm guessing they'll be near the pharmacy. My Wags likes to hide things...

Staples has Hammermill paper on sale for $2 per ream, with an easy rebate of $1.50. That makes the paper $0.50! There is a limit of 2 rebates per household. They also have Bic pens on for $0.50 if you haven't used your $1/2 Bic pens coupon yet.

Kroger will have Ball Park franks on BOGO again next week. You can still print $1/2 coupons from Smartsource (assuming you haven't hit your per computer limit).

Need to get away? Go here for free travel guides. Wanna guess where I'm requesting???

Target Deals

For those of you near a Target (again...jealous...), go here to see what Common Sense with Money has broken down for you. Looks like a great week of deals at Target!

My $10 mission

My mission this week is to only spend $10 out of pocket at both CVS and Walgreens. I plan to get groceries with this and maybe a few stockpile items when there are rewards to receive. I'll let you know how it goes. So far, with one trip to each today, it's looking really good!

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Do you shop at Target?

First, if you're near a Target, I'm a little jealous!

Go to A Full Cup and register. Then you can check out their Target coupon generator. Here's what they say about it:
Target Coupon Generator

With our Target Coupon Generator you can quickly print the latest Target Coupons right from your computer! Click on the thumbnail to view the full coupon then specify the quantity of each coupon you want to print. When you're ready, click "Print Selected Coupons" and wait for your printer to pop-up. We add new Target Coupons as they become available, so check back often!

Some of the ones I see are $0.50 of a pound of bananas (should be close to free!), General Mills Cereals, Listerine, Kellogg's snacks, Pampers, Pop Tarts, Energizer, Bic pens, Huggies and Hillshire Farms Deli meats...

These are STORE coupons...yes, that means you can combine them with manufacturer coupons!

Lucky you...

Want Money off Utilities?

I'm still a little skeptical about this one, but I've downloaded the rebate form and looked it over and I can't see a catch...

Go here to read a post on BeCentsAble about saving money on your utility bills when you buy Tombstone pizzas. Yes, pizzas. I love Tombstone, so this may not be a stretch for us. I'm going to give it a shot. Why not?

(The link to download the form is on the post. I can't figure out how to make it link from here since it directly downloads.)

Free Scrapbooking Stuff!

Follow this link to Fuji Film's site for a free downloadable scrapbooking kit. It has backgrounds, borders and embellishments that you can use over and over again in image editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Digital Image Suite.

I'll be honest...I stink at scrapbooking. Maybe this will help...

Thanks Freebie Blogger!

HEB Deals!

It's kinda rare that I can find great deals with coupons at HEB! Check out what I have found (so far) from this week's ad!

Remember: You don't have to buy multiples of something to get the price. For example, if it's 5/$5, you can get one for $1.
If something is buy one get one free, use a coupon for each for an even better deal!
If the offer is buy "this", get "that" free, you can still use a coupon for the "that" you get for free! This creates an "overage" which basically takes the rest off your bill.

Trix and Cocoa Puffs cereal is on sale 5/$5. Coupons.com has a coupon for $0.55 off Trix. There are also coupons for $1 off 2 General Mills cereal, this makes one box free if you want the Puffs!

The MEAL DEAL is for Ball Park Franks. Redplum has coupons for $1 off two packages of Ball Park Franks. You HAVE to put 76401 in for the zip code to get this one for some reason.

There is another meal deal for Oscar Mayer franks. You'll get a pack of Kraft shredded cheese. Make the deal even better with a coupon for $1/2 packages of Oscar Mayer on Smartsource.

Buy Carnation Instant Breakfast and get HEB Special Flakes with Red Berries. There have been coupons in the paper for Carnation. If you want to do this deal, I have two Carnation coupons I don't intend to use. They're yours if you want them.

Neosporin is listed as $1 off. There are coupons on Smartsource for $1 off Neosporin.

Save $2 on Advil. Make it $1 cheaper with coupons from Redplum.

Another meal deal includes Eckrich smoked sausage. There will be a coupon in Sunday's paper for it! Hold off if you can!

Pampers are on sale. There will be coupons for Pampers in Sunday's paper!

NOTE: I went to HEB today (Thursday) and the cashier couldn't get the printed coupons to scan so they would not take them. Just know this may happen to you too. I'm not happy about that. I've only had trouble with printed coupons at HEB and Wal Mart. CVS, Walgreens and Kroger have never had a problem with them. If they do, they type it in as a generic manufacturer coupon. May not be shopping at HEB anymore after that.

Host a Party!

I am so excited about this site! I just found House Party. You fill out a short application and you may be able to host parties in your house for free! They'll send the party pack to you if you're selected. The list of parties sounds so fun!

Free Always Sample

Go here to request a sample of Always Flexi-Style Liner. I tried and apparently I've maxed out the number of Always samples I can get! These samples are great for slipping in your purse or glove compartment. You never know when you'll need it!

Upcoming FREE Glade!

Thank you Tara at Deal Seeking Mom for this notice!

Glade The Fragrance Collection Scented Reed Diffusers and Soy Candles will be priced at $6.99 and earn $6.99 in ECBs. That’s a fantastic deal in itself, but you can turn it into a moneymaker with the recent ALL YOU magazine coupons or the new $2/1 Glade The Fragrance Collection printable from Right@Home. (I have this coupon and can email it to 5 people. Let me know if you want it! Or, go to Right@Home and sign up!) I think I've even seen some coupons for this in the past week or two in the papers!

GO HERE to see Tara's original post!

Kroger Deals 8/19-8/25

Here are some of the great deals you can get at Kroger this week. This is based on the ad from north Texas region. I'm going to give you deals you can make if you have no paper coupons clipped from the newspapers (and why not...get to it!). You will need your printer ready and you will need to have your Kroger card ready.

First, register your Kroger card at Cellfire. These e-coupons will combine with paper coupons!

Next, register your Kroger card at Shortcuts. Same as Cellfire, these will combine with paper coupons. Some coupons are the same!

While you're at it, register your Kroger card with Proctor and Gamble E Saver. These e-coupons will combine as well!

See where I'm going here...

This week, Kroger is having a MEGA SALE! When you buy 10 participating items, you automatically get $5 off your grocery bill! Keep a count, you don't want to get to the register and be one or two short!

Fruit 2 Day

I have a new favorite product. Fruit2Day. It's 100% fruit juice with bits of fruit in it. You get 2 servings of fruit in one bottle! And it's yummy! I've tried the Strawberry/Orange and the Cherry/Grape and they're both wonderful. Ryan really liked the Cherry/Grape. It's all natural with no added sugar.

Go Here to see their website and print out a $1 off coupon. The two pack is about $3.79 or so. Their site says the Stephenville HEB carries it, but I bought mine at Kroger in Granbury over the weekend. It will be in the produce section. It's worth it!

Super Saturday Shopping!

Thanks to A Frugal Friend we know about this!

If you live in North Texas (and maybe other parts of the country too), get ready for a Saturday grocery trip to Kroger like none other.

WHY?

SUPER DOUBLE MANUFACTURER'S COUPONS UP TO $1.00

One day only - Saturday, August 15th

Kroger will double mfgr coupons valued between 40 cents and $1.00 - coupons greater than $1.00 will be redeemed at face value. Valid with your Kroger card. No cash back. Mfgr coupons issued in store do not apply (I'm assuming this refers to our catalinas).

LIMIT 1 like item per transaction (just go back in later)

This is huge. I know many are used to double coupons up to $1.00, but not here in Texas. This means tons of potential deals and freebies (limited only by your coupons) especially when we throw E-coupons into the mix.

What to do?

1. Look through your coupon stash - pull out anything $0.55 cents or higher (nothing over $1 though)

2. Print out high value coupons online (hurry as many will be doing this):
Coupons.com
Red Plum coupons
Smart Source coupons - for example, there's a $0.75 cent coupon off Wacky Mac pasta - that'll double to $1.50 off (I think current price is already under $1.50 at my Kroger)
Betty Crocker coupons

3. Load up ALL E-coupons available:
Cellfire E-Coupons
Shortcuts E-Coupons
P&G eSavers E-coupons

4. Look at your Kroger weekly ad (our new ad begins today, Wed)
You'll notice that there are huge deals to be made with the Kellogg's/Keebler coupons in the recent insert, along with the Pillsbury ($1 sale continuing) coupons available online.

5. Email your friends - everyone can use a deal these days. Email them the link to A Frugal Friend so they can check out all the coupon resources!

NEW: Coupons for $1/2 and the like WILL NOT double and Kroger will not allow overages the Saturday. If the item is $1.59 and you have a $1 coupon, it will only take off $1.59. Possible exceptions will be the ecoupons you can add to your card. Not sure if those are doubling and allowing overages.

Do I need it: Ryan started potty learning today, so yes. I have about 3 days left of my shampoo in the shower, so yes.

Walgreens for 86% OFF!

Used $9 Register Rewards from last week

Total Cost: $7.36
Saved: $45.96 (86.20%)

Total RR received: $9.50

And the big question: Do I need it? Yes on all. Ryan and Jim eat Cheerios like they're going out of style. I'm craving cinnamon and fruit, so the other cereal is for me. We were just discussing the little air sprayer thingey when I saw the deal in the paper! Good timing! The pens will be given to the women's ministry at church for boxes we're making for college students. The highlighters and folders will be used by me on organizing all this stuff! Toothbrush is a stockpile item. Floss will hopefully be used...at least, we'll tell the dentist we use it. Activity book with coupons speaks for itself! You have to get one of these! Snickers was free, so why not?

Sorry

I know I promised to show you how to save on some things from today's paper. I'm just not up to it today and will not be shopping until tomorrow. Look for the full story tomorrow.

Saturday Savings Round Up!

First, here is a picture of what I received in the mail from last Saturday until yesterday.

I received one $10/$10 purchase at JC Penney coupon, one FREE candy bar from M&M/Mars, one sample of a panty liner (for the purse ladies!) and one pair of GoodNights underpants.

Today, I bought all this at CVS for $0.92.

I bought two Colgate toothpastes, two Colgate toothbrushes, one bag of Baked Lays, 2 Snickers and one Chewy Sweetarts.

Here's the breakdown:
Baked Lays (Reg. $3.79) On Sale for $3, Coupon for $1/1 (Should have had a store and manufacturer coupon, but the girl at the register wouldn't do it...oh well, have another coupon for later) Total Cost: $2

Colgate Toothpaste (Reg. $4.39) On Sale for 2/$7, bought 2
Colgate Toothbrush (Reg. $3.49 - cheapest on shelf), bought 2
Had 2 coupons for $3 off when purchase paste and brush.
Total for all 4 Colgate items: $7.98 (Or full price for brushes and $0.50 for each paste.)

Snickers (Reg. $1.59) On Sale $1, bought 2
Sweetarts (Reg. $.89)

Used $11.99 in Extra Bucks. The candy was bought because the cashier scanned one $2EB two times and my total came out in the negative. I had to purchase something to make up the cost.

Total Spent: $.92
Total Saved: $22.74 (96.11%)

Received: $2EB, $3/$15 purchase, and $3/$15 FSA Eligible purchase. So in reality, I was paid $7.08 to shop at CVS today.

Today I bought all this at Walgreens for $32.83:

I bought, 2 Bertolli Bakes, 2 Chips Ahoy, 2 Easy Mac cups, 4 Sugar Free Jello, 1 Kotex, 2 Ragu sauces, 2 Skippy peanut butters, 1 Seabreeze, 1 Listerine, 1 Jack Links bag, and 1 Pampers Wipes.

Here's a breakdown (Walgreens receipt doesn't show regular price so I'm not sure what the starting price was on some items):
Bertolli Bakes: On sale $5.99, two coupons for $1/1, total cost $4.99 each

Chips Ahoy: On sale 2/$9, Store coupon for $1/1 (took $1 off each pack), Coupon for $0.75/2. Total cost: $3.13 each

Easy Mac cups: On Sale for $1, BOGO coupon, Total Cost: $0.50 each

Jello: (Reg. $1.19), store coupon for 2/$1 (took off two times since bought 4), 2 coupons for $0.50/2, Total Cost: $0.25 each

Jack Links: (Reg. $4.99) Coupon for Free Bag, Total Cost: $0.00!

Pampers Wipes: (Messed up here...) (Reg. $2.99), coupon for $0.50/1 HUGGIES WIPES, couldn't use the store coupon for Huggies wipes...hmmm...wonder why??? It did take the manuf. coupon though...Total Cost: $2.49

Used Register Rewards of $5

Total Spent: $32.83
Total Saved: $36.02 (52.32%)

Received $7 register Rewards for next time

Some of you have asked if I buy things I don't need. No, I don't. Everything purchased will be used. Well, the candy wasn't needed, but I had to make up for her error...and baby likes it!

Jim uses Seabreeze and Listerine daily. We needed new toothbrushes because we've been sick. And because we do brush our teeth a few times a day we needed the paste. I'm pregnant so the baby wipes will be used soon. I won't always be pregnant, so the Kotex will be used soon too. Bertolli meals were a bit of a splurge, but they're my back up meals for days I just don't want to cook. All the snack stuff is for Ryan. Jack Links were only bought because they were free. If we don't like them, no loss there. And I will get 2 meals out of each jar of sauce.

BONUS SAVINGS:
Also saved today on cat food! Signed up The Poo for Science Diet's 3 bag challenge which gives 3 $5 off coupons over the challenge. (He eats SD because he's overweight and has digestive issues, he doesn't yack this back up.) So, today at Tractor Suppply Jim bought one bag (Reg. $13.99) and paid $10.14, for a savings of 33.02%! The challenge is on the Science Diet website and works for cats and dogs...

Starting on the Grocery Game

Today is part one of how I do the grocery game. I hope to get this all to you in just two days, but I have limited time!

Things You Need

1. Sale papers - Sunday paper and Wednesday Trading Post (For Stephenville this is where you get the HEB and Kroger ads.)

2. Coupon Organizer (Set it up how it works best for you. Mine is by category, I know some who have it alphabetized. You decide this because you will have to refer to your organizer a lot!)

3. Envelopes (Carry your coupons to the store in these. Write coupon details on the outside so you don't have to fish around trying to remember what size item or how many items the coupon is for.)

4. Notebook or folder with pockets (I do this for keeping all my coupon envelopes and other things all in one spot. I have a pocket for all the coupons that aren't in my organizer (department stores, restaurants, etc.) I'm also using it to keep track of monthly spending and saving. Have a pocket for all the week's sales papers.)

5. Calculator (for calculating savings and for figuring the best deals)

6. Color printer with plenty of ink (for online coupons)

7. Kroger Card (for shopping at Kroger, obviously!)

8. Staples Reward Card (cash back on ink purchases and you can get deals with the card sometimes)

Sources of Coupons

1. Sunday paper

2. Internet - both coupon sites and company sites

3. All You magazine

4. Other magazines sometimes have them too, watch as you’re reading

5. On the product - peel off type

6. In store inserts (like HEB, they have a store brand coupon book at the end of the registers right now!)

Things You Need to Know

1. Store price match and coupon policies

WalMart: matches any printed price, including X for $X prices, will accept any valid coupon (Stephenville WM tries to not take printed coupons, take a copy of store policy with you if you need to). For price matching you have to have the insert with you. I'm not sure if they match produce prices. I have yet to find one lower.

Kroger: Triples coupons up to 39 cents and doubles 40 cents to 50 cents

2. Simple math for figuring your percentage saved:

Example: I went to Kroger and spent $35, while saving $45. What percentage did I save?

Here's how: Add savings to spendings to see what the trip would have cost (don't worry about tax). The trip would have cost $80 without my savings. Therefore, I want to know what percentage of $80 I saved.

Divide 45 by 80 and multiply that answer by 100. That's your percentage saved. Did you get 56.25%? That's it! Simple.

Tomorrow I will post some tips for success as well as a list of the sites I use for freebies, coupons and more!

Print this in color, I had trouble getting them to take the 15% coupon last week since I did it in black and white. Make sure your printer puts the Walgreens URL on the page and maybe they won't be snippy about taking the coupon this time.

They're at it again!
