Book Review - Jane Austen, Christian Encounters Series

How funny that this book was available the day I watched The Jane Austen Book Club and had decided that I would re-read the Austen novels! I became a huge fan of Austen during college. I caught a glimpse of her world while watching the BBC (Colin Firth) version of Pride and Prejudice and have been a fan ever since. I have read every one of her novels and have seen almost all the movie adaptations. And yet, I know very little about her life. That’s the reason I decided to read this book.

Through this book, I’ve come to appreciate Austen in a more profound way. I knew that she was the daughter of a minister, but for some reason I never thought about the Christianity in her books. I never thought about her social background. I never gave much thought to the woman behind the books. I enjoyed learning about her and through this book have learned a new appreciation for her works. Now I just have to decide which to re-read first...

I am a member of Book Sneeze’s Blogger program. I received no monetary compensation for my opinions. A copy of the book was provided for me to read, in exchange for my honest opinions of the book. Go here to learn more about the program.

This book can be purchased from Amazon for $8.64 by clicking here.
