Today is Mega Swag Bucks Day! Not sure what Swag Bucks is? Basically it's a search and win site. Once you register you search, use the toolbar, do special offers, shop, trade in used electronics...so many ways to earn Swag Bucks! Every Friday, they bump up the amounts you can win through searches.

Be rewarded with Swag Bucks, the web's premiere digital dollar. Whether it's searching the web, answering polls, or shopping online, Swag Bucks will show you how to earn rewards for the activities you're already engaging in, with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

I have been a Swaggernaut since about September and I've traded in my bucks for $25 in Amazon credit, simply from searches and codes. I have never shopped or done a special offer. I have enough now for $20 in credit, but I'm letting it add up a bit! I have my eye on several items in the store!

Happy Baby Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

He comes by it honestly. My son is picky. I've told you before that he loves things that start with "C"...cookies, crackers, chicken, cheese, corn, chips, carrots...with the occasional spaghetti thrown in there. He wasn't always like this though. I used to feed him really good food, but it started getting harder when the baby came. Now that the baby is starting solids (already? and teething? where did time go?) I want to make sure that he gets a good nutritional start to foods.

I was thrilled when Helen at Happy Baby Foods agreed to let me review their products! HAPPYBABY is committed to making baby food as healthy and delicious as homemade with the essential nutrients needed for optimal growth and development. I love that they have a "no junk" promise. Wish I could install that promise in our house!

We tried the Apple and Greens Organic Happy Puffs and we all really thought they were good. (Yep, mom and dad tried too!) Ryan insisted on having them with his sandwiches the past week instead of chips! Maybe a breakthrough? He liked the greens much better than the apple, but considering he has eaten almost the whole canister, I think he's happy with them. Plus, I think I can reuse the canister in our craft area!

For the baby, we tried the Happy Bellies Organic Brown Rice and Organic Oatmeal cereals. I kid you not, he couldn't get enough! I couldn't load the spoon fast enough for him! He was grabbing my hand and pulling the spoon to himself! I think he's a fan! I'm a fan because they incorporate DHA and probiotics. He's only ever had formula so I worry about him getting those nutrients for his development and health.

Helen also sent me coupons for YoBaby Organic Yogurt. My older son is obsessed with yogurt. He loves it. He's been eating a tub of it every day for breakfast for a while now. But I hate that they're all full of sugar and artificial colors and junk. I'm pleasantly pleased (huh?) that he likes this yogurt. We did learn that it needs to be stirred before you eat it! He particularly likes the strawberry banana! I think this is going to replace what he's been eating.

Something that I think is amazing about the Happy Baby Foods company is they made themselves a promise when they started the company that in addition to making wholesome food for our families, they would try to impact the world:

"With every package you purchase, we partner with Project Peanut Butter to help them in their mission to feed hungry children, as well as create sustainable local production of the very foods treating these children."

How cool is that?  You can do good things for your family, and help someone in another part of the world at the same time. Good on you Happy Baby Foods!

Here's the best news: The wonderful crew at Happy Baby Foods has agreed to give one Faithful Finances reader a prize package which will include:
2 free trial coupons for each of the following:

    * HAPPYBELLIES
    * HAPPYBABYPUFFS

Mother's Day Savings Ideas

Looking for ideas for your mother for her special day? Believe me, you do not want to show up with just a card or phone call. Come on, make it special, she carried you and went through the incredible pain of childbirth just to see your smiling face one day. Here are some ideas for saving on gifts for mom:

FTD offers fresh and beautiful flowers that are guaranteed to last 7 days. Get your order in early so you can be sure they get to Mom on time. Check out what they have:

Starting at $19.99 you can send mom a mini rose plant, if she's a good gardener she'll have roses for a while!
At $39.99 is one of the most gorgeous arrangements I've seen in a while. This is called Pink Poise.
If you really appreciate being alive, thanks to mom, you can get the Exquisite Luxury Rose Bouquet - 30 Stems of 24-inch Premium Long-Stemmed Roses with Asiatic Lilies for $165.99. And there are so many options in between the prices!

Mom not a fan of flowers? You're in luck, there are so many other options available too! My mom is a florist, so I just don't think flowers are what she wants. I have found a few sites with cool gifts:

Personal Creations specializes in personalized gifts for special occasions and holidays.
If you can keep a secret, this is what my mother is getting from my boys. It's called the "Reasons I Love" Frame and it can hold up to 12 photos and the photo size will depend on how many you add to it. If you'll notice, it's personalized with names under the photos! I think she's going to love it!

This Sterling Silver Loving Family charm is so beautiful! You can have up to 4 children with 1 or 2 parents on it.

There are so many more options for personalized gifts for mom/aunt/grandma/sister. You just have to check it out yourself! There is a large selection of gifts under $20!

Another site for personalized gifts is PersonalizationMall.com:
The offer some truly beautiful frames, suncatchers and keepsakes for mom.
This personalized robe and make up bag start at only $19.95!

On this site, go beyond the "gifts for her" category and you'll find lots and lots of cute items!
Depending on how fancy Mom is, you can find some really great jewelry. This God's Heart Silver and Gold Monogrammed bracelet is just $24.95!

If Mom's a coffee drinker (and most of us are who have to keep up with kiddos!) you need to check out the Gevalia deal:
Get 3 boxes of coffee for only $3 and you also get a free stainless steel travel mug! Lemme tell you, the Breakfast Blend and the French Vanilla are my favorites. You can find coffee for just about any taste! And you'll save by making it at home instead of buying it at that corner shop!  You need to realize that this is a club and you will have the option to purchase more in the future, if you desire. There is no obligation and you set the delivery schedule, should you desire to continue. Be sure you read the program terms and are okay with them before you order.

I'll confess, in college one year, I missed Mother's Day because I was so busy/in love/stressed with finals and wedding plans...none of that mattered though. What truly hurt me was the tone in Mom's voice when I remembered the next day and called. Needless to say, we don't miss Mother's Day anymore. Some may say "we honor Mom every day" and that's great if you do. You should. But this one day, Mother's Day, make it special. Make sure she knows that you're thinking of her. Make sure you do something for Mom.

It's Snot Funny

I hate snot. I mean really. It makes me gag. After 3 and a half years of diapers, nothing scares me in that area anymore. I can handle vomit (although we've been lucky not to have to deal with it almost at all). But snot. No way.

That's one reason I can't get excited about spring. We're all (baby Caleb included) hacking and snorting and snotty. Yeah, the trees and flowers are beautiful, but they really make us sick!

My poor husband is on sinus, mucus and pain meds, which are working, kind-of.

I'm on allergy and pain meds, which work, but wear off fast.

The baby is on allergy meds, which work until about one hour before the next dose is due.

The 3 and half year old...nothing has been working! We've tried 4 different meds: Zyrtec, Benadryl, Tylenol Cold and VasoBid (what the baby is on). Nothing. Still loads and loads of snot. My last ditch effort was Claritin. (Enter terrible mom moment...I knew I was getting a sample pack from BzzAgent so I waited for it instead of going to buy one to test...)

I gave Ry one grape chewable Claritin the past two days at lunch and there has not been any snot!

Did you know that 4 out of 10 kids suffer from allergies and two million school days are missed due to seasonal and indoor allergies every year? That’s a lot of days missed — and that doesn’t even include all the days kids spend in an allergy fog!

Studies have shown that the effects of allergies can be significant for kids. Daytime allergy symptoms can impede focus and result in learning problems, while  nighttime allergy symptoms can result in sleep loss and lead to daytime drowsiness. How can a kid be a kid when all they can do is focus on their allergies?

With Children’s Claritin® Grape Chewables, you’ll be able to help give your kids powerful all-day relief from sneezing, runny noses, itchy, watery eyes and other allergy symptoms, without making them jittery or drowsy*. Plus, it's the #1 Pediatrician Recommended non-drowsy allergy brand.

…How Children’s Claritin® can help:
    •  Only Children’s Claritin® provides powerful all-day allergy relief without making
       your child jittery or drowsy*.
    •  Children’s Claritin® can help provide all-day relief from runny noses, itchy,
watery eyes and other allergy symptoms, helping kids stay focused

They're not even exaggerating. The change in Ry was immediate and has been lasting. He's not drowsy and he's not "spun up" like meds can do to him. He can breathe better, which is helping him sleep better. We're able to get outside and play because he doesn't end up spending the rest of the day sniffling and wiping snot all over everything (he's learning about tissues).

And I haven't gagged in a few days!

So yeah, I recommend Children's Grape Chewable Claritin.

Click here to become a Facebook fan of Claritin and check out the giveaway promotion which will be starting May 6! Then click on the Children's Tab for a $3 off coupon as well as more information about children's allergies and an "allergy profiler".

I was provided with a sample box of Children's Grape Chewable Claritin, as well as coupons, from Claritin through BzzAgent. They also supplied the information regarding allergies and their product. The experience noted is true and is my own. No additional compensation has been provided.

Giveaway - House Rules by Jodi Picoult (CLOSED)

House Rules: A Novel
I just finished reading this book and I loved it so much,  I'm going to give it away! I was lucky enough to be chosen to host a House Rules Book Party through Partique so I have the copy I purchased and the copy they sent me to give away! That's right, two readers will each get a free copy of this wonderful book.

Here's a short blurb from Amazon about the book:

They tell me I'm lucky to have a son who's so verbal, who is blisteringly intelligent, who can take apart the broken microwave and have it working again an hour later. They think there is no greater hell than having a son who is locked in his own world, unaware that there's a wider one to explore. But try having a son who is locked in his own world, and still wants to make a connection. A son who tries to be like everyone else, but truly doesn't know how.
Jacob Hunt is a teenage boy with Asperger's syndrome. He's hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, and like many kids with AS, Jacob has a special focus on one subject--in his case, forensic analysis. He's always showing up at crime scenes, thanks to the police scanner he keeps in his room, and telling the cops what they need to do...and he's usually right. But then his town is rocked by a terrible murder and, for a change, the police come to Jacob with questions. All of the hallmark behaviors of Asperger's--not looking someone in the eye, stimulatory tics and twitches, flat affect--can look a lot like guilt to law enforcement personnel. Suddenly, Jacob and his family, who only want to fit in, feel the spotlight shining directly on them. For his mother, Emma, it's a brutal reminder of the intolerance and misunderstanding that always threaten her family. For his brother, Theo, it's another indication of why nothing is normal because of Jacob. And over this small family the soul-searing question looms: Did Jacob commit murder?
Emotionally powerful from beginning to end, House Rules looks at what it means to be different in our society, how autism affects a family, and how our legal system works well for people who communicate a certain way--and fails those who don't.

It is a truly gripping story. I've never read one of Jodi's novels before, but I will read them now! You can buy the book from Amazon for $16.38 HERE or you can try to win it!

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

Found a New Toy Site

In the midst of searching endlessly for toys to occupy the 3 year old's time, I stumbled across Growing Tree Toys. They have an entire section of toddler toys that I think Ry would love, but more importantly, they have a train section! We only have about a million trains so we're way behind what he thinks he needs! Check them out HERE for the deal of the day.

Home Made Simple Coupons

You can go here to request the newest Home Made Simple coupon booklet. These are Proctor and Gamble coupons which are typically higher value than the newspapers and always match nicely with CVS and Wags sales!

Piggy Paint!

I'm still a little girl inside! I love having painted toe nails. I don't do my fingernails as much just because my baby chews on my fingers and I don't want him chewing on chemicals on my hands.

I was really excited to learn about Piggy Paint. It was created by a stay at home mom who didn't want her daughters chewing on chemicals either. It is a water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients and does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone.

I was sent the color "Forever Fancy" to sample. It went on very easily and dried faster than I realized it would!
It was a brighter pink than I would normally wear on my hands, but I'll use it on my toes for the summer! I did notice that large chip on my middle finger this morning after I'd just painted yesterday, but moments after taking this photo, I went and repaired it and you can't tell the chip was there.

It comes in a really wonderful line of colors:
I will be ordering more from them! It retails for $8.99 a bottle which I think is totally reasonable for a product specially made and formulated to not make you sick when you use it!

I was also sent a bottle of remover to test. It has a low odor (not bad at all), no acetone and is hypoallergenic and biodegradable. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E are added to supplement the natural oils that protect nails and cuticles. It took off my "oops" really easily (you know, when you get paint on your hands when you're painting. Well, that and the cabinet since I dropped the brush...) and I didn't feel like I needed to wash my hands for hours afterward to get the smell off my hands. And I didn't feel like I needed a well ventilated area to use it either. It also retails for $8.99 a bottle and it will last you a while because it's a good sized bottle!

They have really cute (and cleverly named) gift sets and apparel on their site.

You can go HERE to find a retailer (either local or online) or you can go HERE and shop directly from Piggy Paint. If you shop directly with Piggy Paint, use the code FAITHFUL10L between now and August 31 for 10% off anything on the site, including sale items!  Spend over $35 and domestic shipping is FREE! They use 100% recycled shipping peanuts to ship their products.

Sign up to follow (or "like") Piggy Paint on Facebook. Today there is a special Earth Day code for 15% off, but you have to follow to get it...I'm not spilling those beans! There will also be a special 2 hour discount code on Friday, April 30 at 7:30 PM CST.

You can also follow Piggy Paint on Twitter for sales and information!

Go here to read the Piggy Paint Blog.

I was sent a bottle of polish and a bottle of remover for review. I was not required to post a positive review, I really do like the product. My opinion was not influenced by the product received.

Making Money Online

I've had a lot of people ask what I'm doing for the Amazon credits and Christmas cash. Well, lots. Mainly reading emails from some sites and doing surveys. Here are what my totals look like for each place:

Synovate/Global Opinion Panels
I also have 3750 points accumulated toward my next payout. Cash out starts at 5000 points for $5. Paid by check. No points for referrals.

Lightspeed Panel
I have 25 points left after cashing out today. No points for referrals. Earn entries for "quick matches" and polls for sweepstakes entries for a $5000 prize.

Mindfield
Cash out at $5. Receive $1 for sign ups after they have completed their first survey. Have completed a 3 month study with them for big bucks. Paid by check. Holds monthly sweepstakes and drawings. (Current is for iPhone or AppleTV. Get entries for different actions.)

InBox Dollars
Cash out at $30. Have received one $40 check in past. Referral rewards are awarded as 10% of qualified earnings of your referral. I can email you an invitation or you can click on button on right hand side of page.

Mommytalk Surveys

Cash out at $25. Multiple options for rewards. Available surveys change daily. No referral rewards.

MyPoints

Typically cash out at 1500 points for $10 gift card. Card takes about 4 weeks to get through mail. Earn points by shopping, reading email, printing and using coupons. Referrals become part of your "network" and you earn 10% of their points. Plus, you get 25 points for the first 20, up to 500 points. I also earn points from BzzAgent. I can email you an invite.

MySurvey

Options for cashing out have changed! It used to be 1000 points for $10, but now you can pick from a catalog of rewards, similar to the ones from Lightspeed. Amazon $10 is 1100 points for example. You can also cash out through PayPal. Receive 150 points for qualified referrals. I can email you the invite. Holds monthly sweepstakes.

Opinion Outpost
Cash out at $5 or 50 points. Can get Amazon credit or have a checked mailed. Amazon is immediate, checks take a few weeks. Survey invites have been increasing! Referral rewards of 20 points ($2) after they complete their first survey.

Reward Port Surveys

Cash out at $25. Multiple options for rewards. Available surveys change daily. No referral rewards.

Valued Opinions
Cash out at $20. I think there were multiple options. I took Amazon credit. You can see some are pretty high paying surveys! No referral rewards.

Swagbucks

Earn through searching, shopping, special offers, trading in electronics. Prizes are varied from $5 Amazon codes to a Nintendo Wii. Earn points from referrals. Matching Swag Bucks are only awarded on Swag Bucks won through online search. Earn up to 1,000 matching Swag Bucks per friend.

There have also been random sites that haven't been so great, but still sometimes pay.
These include:
YouData - I've earned $5.33 since October. Receive a $0.01 referral bonus for the first 100 referrals...whoo hoo!, they pay out regularly though. Every Friday through PayPal. I very rarely get ad invites.
Daily Survey Panel - Since November I have earned $20 in Amazon credits. You can complete a survey from a set of 4 panels daily (one each) so this one can add up quickly. You receive emails daily from them. I've backed off on this one simply because I'm a little tired of surveys. Referral rewards are ample: For every single friend you refer you will receive 200 points for every month that they are an active in our panel. As long as your friend keeps actively participating every month, your account will be credited every month. I currently have 590 points toward my next credit. Cash out is at 1000 points for $5.
American Consumer Opinion - I've earned $8 so far. I rarely qualify for their surveys. Cash out is $10.

So, that's it. All told, I spend about 2 hours a day with the different sites. Most sites email survey invites so I just go down the emails! Most are click on emails for points.

I added up today and if I'd saved all my Amazon credits I'd be over $200 in my account.

I've used cash to pay for a stroller. A nice one.

I've bought books and movies for free from Amazon.

I have $21 in cash toward Ry's birthday saved up and I have gift cards for family and friends for gifts.

Not too shabby if I say so myself.
