Funky Monkey Snacks

How picky can one almost 4-year old boy be? Yeah...well...he's picky! I have a really hard time finding snacks that he'll eat more than once (unless it's a bright orange fish shape) and an even harder time finding things that don't get him "spun up" from the sugar. I'm actually pretty lucky that he likes fruit, black beans and carrots. I was pleased to get the opportunity to review Funky Monkey snacks in hopes that I could broaden his snacking horizons...

Funky Monkey snacks are freeze dried fruits with really fun flavors! Each ounce contains 3 servings of fruit and are all natural! We're talking 100% fruit, no artificial anythings! They are also nut free, which is good for those households where you're dealing with allergies. The fact that they are freeze dried means that they keep all the great nutrients!

We had a great time testing all of them.

The BananaMon (banana with cinnamon) and the AppleMon (apple with cinnamon) while I really enjoyed, my son was iffy about them, but that's because he's not used to a lot of cinnamon (daddy is allergic).

 

The JiveALime (pineapple with lime juice) was so sour and tart! My son wouldn't eat it, so I helped him with the bag!

The PurpleFunk (banana with acai) tasted really good, but the appearance was kinda well, funky.

PinkPineapple (pineapple with guava) was my favorite! It was so sweet it hurt my teeth, but it was soooooo gooood!

I can't give an opinion on the MangOJ because my husband and son ate it so fast I didn't get a taste. I'm assuming it's really yummy.

The Carnaval Mix (mixture of banana, apple, pineapple and papaya) was eaten in the car and again, I didn't get a taste.
 
So, all in all, these were a huge hit at my house.  I've never noticed them in the stores but they're available for order from Amazon.
