Book Review: I Lift Up My Soul

I Lift Up My Soul: Devotions to Start Your Day with God
I Lift Up My Soul: Devotions to Start Your Day With God
By Charles F. Stanley
Thomas Nelson, 2010
English, 384 pgs

365 devotions that lead straight to the throne of God.
The sun rises, the day begins, and everything the world needs from you stands waiting at the door. In the midst of it all, the whisper of God invites you to do the most important thing of any day-be with Him.
In this 365-day devotional, I Lift Up My Soul, best-selling author and pastor Dr. Charles Stanley leads you straight to the Father with words of encouragement and insight drawn from the Word of God. Each day, you will be inspired to lift up your soul and gain a Bible-centered perspective.

I don't think I've ever read anything from Dr. Stanley that I haven't found uplifting and encouraging. This book is no different. Obviously, I did not read every page as this is meant to last a year. Today's, for instance, is about using Scripture for your prayers. Some may say this is a "greatest hits" since the material is pulled from his previous books, but I haven't read all of his books and even if I did, it's never too often to hear Scripture and to read devotions. I could read this book over and over for years and I know I'd still pull meaningful lessons each day.

I received this book from BookSneeze in exchange for an honest review. No additional compensation has been received.
