L'Oreal Challenge Results

For the past 4 weeks, I've been participating in the L'Oreal Lash Boosting Challenge for BzzAgent. I've been using the Lash Boosting Serum two times a day and Lash Boosting Mascara daily. (Which was funny to me on days when I only used foundation and mascara. I felt "fancy" while staying at home with two screaming kids!)

The macara and serum were supposed to produce "visibly thicker, fuller, bare lashes that look multiplied" and have "less lash fall out". The mascara is double sided. The first step is a conditioner primer which will "prep lashes and boost their condition" and the mascara will give "80% longer lashes instantly".

Did it work? Well, yes and no. Yes, I did see far less lash "drop out" and they did seem fuller, probably as a result of having more. Now for the no: I stopped using the serum Monday, which was the final day of the challenge, and my lashes are falling out just as much as they did before I ever used the product.

It was supposed to produce better looking bare lashes and I can't say I saw a difference. My husband didn't notice any difference either and he's far more observant than I am!

Now, I'm sold on the mascara. The two step mascara does produce long, gorgeous lashes, but only when both steps are used. If I only used the mascara without the primer, it wasn't any different from all other mascaras I've used.

So, am I going to buy this product? No. I think it's priced above what I'm comfortable paying for any make-up product. If you don't mind the price of it, I recommend the mascara.

I was supposed to take "after" photos, but there really isn't a difference worth noting, so I did not.

L'Oreal Challenge, Week 2, Day 5, BzzAgent Report

I was recently sent a trial set of L'Oreal Lash Boosting Mascara and Serum from BzzAgent. I received one each of the Concentrated Lash Boosted Serum and the Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara. The challenge is to use the serum twice daily and the mascara daily for four weeks.

After two weeks of daily use, I'm seeing results!

My bare lashes do look fuller when they are bare and I am seeing much less breaking and "fall out" as a result of using the serum twice per day. I'm betting the fullness is just because I'm not losing lashes as much as prior to use. I'll take it though! After using the serum, I do feel a slight sting on one eye. The fact that I don't feel it on both tells me it probably isn't from the product.

The mascara is consistently making my lashes look longer when it's on. I get a little concerned though when it doesn't seem as if I'm washing off as much as I put on.

No photos are available this week because I just haven't taken them.

L'Oreal Challenge, Week 1, Day 4, BzzAgent Report

I was recently sent a trial set of L'Oreal Lash Boosting Mascara and Serum from BzzAgent. I received one each of the Concentrated Lash Boosted Serum and the Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara. The challenge is to use the serum twice daily and the mascara daily for four weeks.

The mascara and serum should produce "visibly thicker, fuller, bare lashes that look multiplied" and have "less lash fall out". The mascara is double sided. The first step is a conditioner primer which will "prep lashes and boost their condition" and the mascara will give "80% longer lashes instantly".

My initial thought was that I was really hesitant because I am extremely loyal to my regular mascara (Mary Kay Ultimate) and I didn't really want to try a new product. But, I agreed to do it.

Here are my day one photos:

(I really hate having my photo taken!) These photos are before any use of the product and are with no make up on my eyes.

Here's what it looks like with the mascara on:

I have used the serum and mascara for 4 days now. I'm not sure if I'm seeing a difference in my "naked" lashes, but when the mascara is on, my lashes are longer, but still look pretty sparse. The system is extremely easy to use.

I will post a report weekly until the end of the challenge!

GM Cereals Alert!

I'm excited to share some great news for cereal lovers.

General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.

Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children´s diets.

Other cereal benefits:
  • Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children´s diets.

  • Ready-to-eat cereal is the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child´s diet today.

  • More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures.
Studies also demonstrate the benefits of eating breakfast. A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.

We are big cereal eaters! I eat cereal every morning and my son and husband snack on dry cereals. I have been hesitant to buy anything other than Cheerios and Kix for my kiddo though because of the amount of sugar in most cereals. (We heavily monitor his sugar intake because of behavior issues.)

That being said, I'm so happy that General Mills has committed to reducing sugar in it's cereals while increasing the vitamins and minerals that are so important to development.

General Mills sent me 4 VIP coupons for FREE GM cereals to test the new cereals. I bought one typically higher sugar cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch) and then wimped out and bought Cheerios and two types of Chex for us to try.

We're two days into the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and my son's behavior hasn't changed!

That is a winner for me! I will continue to branch out what we serve to him and they will be General Mills cereals because of the lower sugar content!

The opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own and I have not received monetary compensation for them. I did receive 4 free coupons, coupon link, and information from General Mills. The coupons did not change my opinion.

Here's the Bzzz

BzzAgent sent me a sample pack of Softsoap NutriSerum Body Wash today. I admit, I have tried it already (thanks to getting it free at either CVS or Wags) and I can't tell you how much I love it.

(Caution...TMI alert...)
I have really, really, really dry skin on my legs and feet. To the point where they flake and peel. This is helping! My legs are softer and my feet don't hurt because of the skin being so dry anymore.

I love that the scent is subtle but stays with you. I feel like I'm doing something good for my skin when I use this!

I was so happy about getting to share this product with friends. Even better was getting to share coupons! You know how I feel about coupons! I even felt bad because I had 6 samples and only 5 coupons, so I took one out of my personal stash and gave it away with the sample! Everyone should get to enjoy this body wash!
